Superintendent's Update


Dr. Tim Conrad and Officer Don Stanko will present Digital Danger to parents and community members May 15 at 6:30 pm in the Perkins High School Auditorium. This program targets ways to decrease the misuses of social media, including sexting, harassment and cyberbullying, and focuses on the new and emerging digital dangers. This event is for adults only; no students will be permitted to attend.


Topics include:

  • Trends in teen and tween social media use
  • Anonymous app trends
  • The newest digital dangers
    • Live video streaming apps
    • Camouflage apps
  • Digital parenting tips
  • When and how to involve law enforcement


Dr. Tim Conrad received his B.S., M.A. and Ph.D. from the Ohio State University and is a licensed teacher, professional counselor, school counselor and career coach. His current area of research is “Ethics, boundaries and social media.”


Officer Don Stanko has worked as a police officer in Franklin County, Ohio since 1992 and has helped create programs focused on personal safety. Don holds instructor certification for D.A.R.E., R.A.D. (Rape Aggression Defense) Ground-fighting, Internet Safety, Cyberbullying Prevention, and Terrorism Awareness for Citizens.


This presentation team has shared their digital safety program with over 100,000 people, teaching practical ways to be online without going over the line. 



Congratulations to seniors McKenna Darr and Alyssa Johnson! Both completed Associate of Science degrees from BGSU Firelands, which were awarded at the university's recent graduation ceremony. McKenna and Alyssa completed these degrees through the College Credit Plus program and will graduate from Perkins High School on May 26.
