District maintains facilities through Permanent Improvement Funds

Numerous maintenance projects were completed over the summer months to keep our aging facilities and grounds in good condition. One of the larger projects entailed asphalt repair and replacements that were completed district wide:

  • Briar seal and restripe
  • Scott Fry lane area widening, seal and restripe
  • Furry front lot crack-filled, sealed and restriped
  • High School crack-filled, pot holes patched
  • Bus lot sections were milled and replaced, crack filled, potholes patched, sealed and restriped.
  • Transportation employee lot was crack filled, sealed and restriped.

Roof replacement and repairs were another major undertaking:

  • Briar kitchen, boiler room, west portion of the gym edge, west entrance way and 3 sides of the multi-purpose rooms roof were ground down, foamed and coated.
  • High School locker room areas of the roof, 700 wing ledges roof surfaces between first and second floor was completely replaced, recoated.

Due to crucial funds provided by the Permanent Improvement levy we have made nearly $4000,000 in roof repairs and replacement, and just over $400,000 in asphalt and concrete repair and replacement over the last five years. In the next few newsletters we will highlight additional areas in which the Permanent Improvement levy allows the district to keep our facilities in good working order for our students, staff and community.
