PHS Artists Win Scholastic Regional Awards

2022 Gold Key Winners

Perkins High School artists cleaned up at the annual Scholastic Art Awards, winning a total of 41 awards – including eight Gold Keys – among the 1,600 pieces submitted by high school students across the region. 

Seniors Alaina Speer and Aubriella Villarreal each won two Gold Keys, the top honor. Seniors Jasmine King and Kaydee Streng, and juniors Mia Downing and La’Niya Buchanan also received Gold Keys.

All Gold Key entries will be judged nationally, as well.

Multiple Key Winners

Alain Speer also won two Silver Keys, including one for her portfolio. Aubriella Villarreal also won a Silver Key and an honorable mention; Jasmine King also a Silver Key and an Honorable Mention; and Mia Downing also won an Honorable Mention.

More key winners are: Conner Zytkowitcz, two Silver Keys, Honorable Mention portfolio, two Honorable Mentions; Katelyn Showalter, Silver Key, Honorable Mention portfolio, Honorable Mention; Tara Myers, two Silver Keys, Honorable Mention; Aedon Gibson, Silver Key, Honorable Mention; Wyatt Gilbert, Silver Key, Honorable Mention; and Brianna Young: Silver Key, Honorable Mention.

Honorable Mention: Liz Michel, three Honorable Mentions; and Eve Hartley, Adrian Kessler, Ashritha Kota, Emmitt Prientice, Trevor Ramsdell, and Logan Steele each received Honorable Mention awards.
