Furry Elementary Principal Jennifer Yost will depart Perkins Local School District to become principal at New London Elementary for the 2022-2023 school year, announced Perkins Superintendent Todd Boggs on Thursday.
“Mrs. Yost has played a vital leadership role in the Perkins Schools administration, and we regret seeing her leave,” Mr. Boggs said. “Mrs. Yost not only has been a teacher and principal for Perkins Schools for more than 20 years, she is a Perkins High School graduate. We wish her all the best in her new position.”
Mrs. Yost graduated from PHS in 1992. After graduating in 1997 from Ashland University with a bachelor's degree in education, Mrs. Yost taught third grade at Holy Angels Catholic School for three years. She earned a master’s degree in education from Bowling Green State University in 2004.
She started her career at Perkins Schools as a first grade teacher at Furry Elementary in August 2001. Mrs. Yost became interim principal at Furry Elementary in January 2015, and became principal in July 2015.
"I’m forever grateful to Perkins Local Schools for not only providing me the education I received during my formative years, but also blessed that I was able to serve the students, families and staff as a teacher and an administrator in the district that gave me so much," Mrs. Yost said.
The New London Local Schools Board of Education officially offered Mrs. Yost the position on Thursday morning, and she accepted the offer.
Her resignation to Perkins Schools will go to the Perkins Board of Education at its next regularly scheduled meeting on Wednesday, July 13. The search for her successor will commence immediately. The job was posted Thursday.
