A Briar Middle School eighth grader placed third in the Power of the Pen regional competition held in March. The school’s seventh grade team also placed third overall and a seventh grader placed 10th.
The competition was held virtually on March 12 from Lourdes College.
Annaliese Rogers placed third among 76 eighth graders from 32 schools across the region that participated. Seventh grader Lucy Miller placed 10th among 87 seventh graders.
The seventh grade team of Tavi Dillender, Charlotte Kessler, Ian Krecic, Lucy Miller, Madalayna Toccaceli, and Zoe Tomasula placed third overall.
The Power of the Pen competition is an interscholastic creative writing program that challenges students to write prose based on prompts and within a time limit.
