The students' artwork is included in the 54th annual Lorain County Region Scholastic Art Exhibit sponsored by Nordson Corporation, which opened on Monday, January 10, at the Lorain County Community College’s Beth K. Stocker Art Gallery.

This exhibit draws from public, parochial, and private middle, high schools and homeschoolers from Lorain, Erie, and Huron counties. Art teachers enter more than 1,200 original works of art from student artists each year. Professional judges then choose more than 500 pieces of art to be displayed.

The categories of art include architecture, ceramics, glass, comic art, design, digital, drawing, illustration, editorial cartoon, fashion design, jewelry, mixed media, painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture, video game design, and Senior portfolio.

Because of the overwhelming popularity of this exhibit, the Beth K. Stocker Art Gallery is open extended hours through the run of the exhibit:

• Mondays through Fridays from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
• Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 4-6:30 p.m.
• Sundays from 1-3 p.m. on Jan. 16, 23, 30, Feb. 13, 20 and March 6.

The exhibit may also be seen by appointment by calling (440) 366-4140.

The Gold Key and Awards Ceremony will be from 1-3 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 6. The Gallery will be open from 1-4 on this Sunday only.

All students, employees and visitors are required to wear masks inside all buildings on the LCCC campus including the Beth K. Stocker Art Gallery, regardless of vaccination status.
