Pirates United is a celebration of all students at Perkins Local Schools.
Meet Our Students
My name is Christopher Scott, and my favorite part of Special Olympics Unified Sports was playing basketball and shooting hoops.
It made me feel great to play in front of the whole school; I liked when everyone cheered for me. My favorite sports are basketball and dodgeball. I like to play both sports and watch them.
After high school I am looking forward to spending a lot of time at Cedar Point.
My name is Justin Scott, I enjoy participating in Special Olympics Unified Sports.
This year was fantastic, I played basketball and was able to practice with my friends outside. My favorite sport is basketball – I like to watch it and play it.
When I graduate high school, I want to become a famous actor, I also want to become a famous movie director and producer.
My name is Maddison Beard, and my favorite part of Special Olympics Unified Sports was making new friends and seeing all my friends from my old school.
My favorite sport is bowling, and I hope to do Unified bowling at Perkins High School next year.
When I graduate high school, I am looking forward to traveling with my family. I would love to go to France one day. I mean, who doesn’t want to see the Eiffel Tower.
My name is Tatum Burger, and my favorite part of Special Olympics Unified Sports was experiencing all of the support from all of my friends in the school.
I loved being able to work with my friend Marianna, she helped me a lot with cheerleading.
When I graduate high school, I am looking forward to spending a lot of time with my family and my dog, Yoda.
My name is Zionna Walker, and my favorite part of Special Olympics Unified Sports was playing basketball.
It is a really fun sport and I have never been able to play it before.
My favorite sport is volleyball, I would love for that to be a part of Unified Sports one day; I could definitely coach that.
After high school, I would like to go to cosmetology school and own my own salon.

Perkins High School students came together to celebrate inclusivity – and invited students from three area schools to join the party.
The Pirates went 4-0 in the Special Olympics Unified Sports flag football tournament.
