Change Of Guard: Perkins Schools To Get New School Resource Officers

Two new School Resource Officers will replace current SRO Jacob Marsinick next week, announced the Perkins Police Department. The officers, Sean Collins and Luis Rodriguez, will split their focus among the four school buildings.

Officer Collins joined the Perkins Township Police Department on June 12, 2019, and brings 10 years of experience to the SRO role. Officer Collins has demonstrated a strong commitment to community-oriented policing and youth engagement throughout his career.

Officer Rodriguez joined the Perkins Township Police Department on February 27, 2021, and has 12 years of experience. He, too, is dedicated to building positive relationships with students, staff, and families within the school community.

Both Officer Collins and Officer Rodriguez look forward to working collaboratively with the Perkins Schools to enhance school safety, foster trust, and support students through education, mentorship, and proactive engagement.

Officer Marsinick, meanwhile, will transition to a new role in the Road Patrol Division for Perkins Police. He has served as a trusted mentor, coach, and role model, positively impacting thousands of students.

Through his daily interactions, classroom instruction, and commitment to school safety, Officer Marsinick helped foster positive relationships between law enforcement and youth while promoting a safe and supportive learning environment.

Perkins Schools is happy to welcome Officers Collins and Rodriguez, and wishes all the best to Officer Marsinick in his future endeavors.
