Perkins Board Hires New Transportation And Food Service Directors

Perkins Schools have turned to a long-time bus driver to become the district’s new Director of Transportation and a veteran cafeteria worker to become Food Service Director.

The Perkins Local School District Board of Education on Wednesday, June 14, 2023, unanimously approved a two-year contract, effective August 1, for Amy Stallard as the district’s Director of Transportation.

Ms. Stallard has been a bus driver at Perkins Schools since January 2015. In addition to transporting students to school and events, Ms. Stallard also has served as a trainer for school bus drivers. 

Ms. Stallard will succeed Randall Conaway, who will leave the district on August 1.

The Board also unanimously approved a two-year contract, effective January 1, 2024, for Cynthia Schaefer as Perkins’ Food Service Director. Ms. Schaefer has been working in the Food Services Department at Perkins Schools for 20 years, and spent time in three of the four kitchens. She most recently served as lunchroom manager at Briar Middle School.
Ms. Schaefer will succeed Karen Wells, who will retire on December 31.

In other action, the Board:
* Approved a three-year contract for Erick Weisenberger, the assistant principal at Briar Middle School. 
* Approved the 2023-2024 handbooks for the four buildings, preschool, transportation, and athletics. The new handbooks will be posted to the Perkins Schools website by July 1, 2023.
